Sir,
Referring to your Letter of the 5th ultimo to Mr. Meade respecting a supply of subsidiary silver coins for the Government of Hong Kong, I have to state, for the information of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, that the Deputy Master of the Royal Mint informs the Crown Agents that owing to the requirements of the Imperial Coinage it is not probable that the Mint will be in a position to undertake the execution of the Hong Kong Coinage during the next six months.
